If We Were on a Coffee Date | Vol. 14

If We Were on a Coffee Date (14), Kendel @ Little Misadventures #NZbloggers

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I finished work on Monday! My contract is officially over and I have my summer back. Working seven days a week definitely takes it out of you, but I loved talking to my clients every day. It was brilliant. I am a people person after all 😉 I might even miss going to work every day. Who would have thought?

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I got the stomach bug on Tuesday, which was the day after I finished work (obviously). It was also the day that I was planning to go back to Auckland. Typical. I woke up and felt okay. I went to brunch with my mother and felt worse. By midday I felt like absolute crap. By 2pm I was vomiting every hour. It was terrible. Luckily for me, it got to that ‘terrible’ point really quickly and it was over (more or less) by 10pm that night. Hallelujah.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I tried to go back to Auckland yesterday (Wednesday), but my car broke down on the side of the road. Typical. I tried to get it going myself, but nothing worked. I called roadside assist and ended up getting a tow from Te Mata (on the Thames Coast) back to my parents’ house in Kuaotunu. It was not how I pictured my trip going. At all. My car is currently at the mechanics having a new starter motor installed. Fingers crossed it gets fixed before midday tomorrow so I can make it back to Auckland before the rain hits!

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I ordered a bunch of clothes from Missguided! I am so, so excited. I don’t typically spend money on stuff like clothes, so I am anxious to see how they fit and what they look like.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’ve been writing my assignment and it has just flowed. I think I wrote 1,200 words in two hours. Guys, that’s how good this thing is going. I reckon I could smash out the draft tonight if I sat down and focussed. I just need a break. I cannot stare at that assignment without my eyes going blurry. Probably doesn’t help that I’m staring at my screen to write this post too 😉 Oh well.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I started watching The 100 with my parents and I am hooked. You guys, this show is so good. I started watching it when they were halfway through season one, so I need to go back and watch everything from the start so it makes more sense. I’m not complaining.

Tell me…

  • Do you work through summer?
  • Has your car ever broken down?
  • Have you ever ordered clothes from an online store?
  • What TV show are you addicted to at the moment?

  1. I’m gonna skip the first question and…the second question and…the third questions (all that is no)…The Shannara Chronicles is the series am obsessing over currently

  2. This car thing… I hit the ditch the morning after it had snowed really lightly. I was driving as slow as a grandma already, and turned the corner on a gravel road… boom. My car careened into the steepest ditch ever! A really nice guy saw the whole thing and called a tow truck for me, but I paid 75$ when I could have gotten my cousin – .5 mile away – to pull me out… Probably the most embarrassed I’ve ever been!
    Thanks for sharing that 😛

    1. Oh, I feel ya! The same (ish) thing happened to me! It had been raining (the first rain after summer) and I hit diesel and managed to skid then flip my car into the drain. I was going SO SLOW. It was embarrassing. So terrible. Haha. Glad you were okay though! 🙂

  3. this is so cute! i love this idea!

    1. i do work through the summer! since being out of college i no longer get summer break. (adult life stinks don’t do it…)

    2. when my truck breaks down my daddy always comes to the rescue and fixes it! what a guy!

    3. i have order clothes online but i’m always scared how they’ll fit. i usually thrift though.

    4. i recently had a breakup so i’ve been binge watching gilmore girls and singing the theme song. whoops.

you’re neat. i like your blog lady!

    1. Hehe thanks!

Ew, no summer break! Boo. Adulthood. Haha. I think that’s the only reason why I want to be a student forever. I think I would just study forever and ever and just be super overqualified for any job haha. Oh well.

Oh, you’re so lucky! My parents do the same but they take a few hours to get to wherever I live haha. It is a little less than ideal. I’ve only had one break down (and two actual completely written off accidents), so hopefully it doesn’t happen again!

I’m really super scared of online shopping now. I just returned $200 worth of stuff that I got online. Looks like I should just stick to the good ol’ fashioned way of shopping!

GILMORE GIRLS! That’s a show that I need to watch again. Yes. That is going to happen.
