I still can’t believe that it’s December! Twinkly Christmas lights have popped up on my street. I watched my boss put up Christmas trees today. It is definitely the holiday season. I don’t know why, but I’m just not feeling it yet. Maybe it is because the year has flown by so quickly. Seriously. I know I say it all the time, but it feels like I have blinked and we’ve wound up in December. I saw this post on Megan’s blog and I thought I would give it a go myself! Anything to get in the Christmas spirit 😉
1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
It took me a while to come up with one
and a quick Google search but I realised that I watch The Santa Clause (all of them) during the Christmas holidays. No shame.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I wish I was allowed to open presents on Christmas Eve! Our family has a lot of young children, so we tend to keep all gift giving/opening to Christmas morning. They say it’s something to “keep the Christmas spirit” but I think they just like to torture us. We are a strictly Christmas morning family.
3. Do you like to stay in your PJs on Christmas Day or dress up?
Dress up! I love dressing up all fancy like and I take every opportunity to do so. Give me pretty dresses, glossy lips and layers upon layers of mascara.
4. If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
Probably my mother. Because she is the cutest and has always been there for me. No matter what crazy thing I have told her 😉
5. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
I have never ever built one…and now I feel like I am missing out. I found a gingerbread house kit (is that cheating?) and I am definitely going to buy it before I go to my parent’s house on the Coromandel coast.
6. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
What Christmas break? I’m typically working during that time. That being said, I do make sure I go and sit on the beach for an hour or two. I take the dog for a walk. I read my favourite book(s). I just take time out to do things that I love. That’s probably what I’m going to be doing this year.
7. Any Christmas wishes?
Just a happy holiday season 🙂
8. Favourite Christmas food?
Stuffing. I love nothing more than stuffing. It is so good. I can (and have) eaten a whole plate of stuffing before. It isn’t a traditional “Christmas food” but I love pavlova. We usually have one around Christmas. I’m also a huge fan of mince pies. You know, the Christmas fruit mince pies. I eat at least one a day for a solid month.
9. Candy cane or gingerbread man?
Gingerbread man! I agree with Megan. Candy canes just get too sickly after a while. Gingerbread though…I will never, ever get sick of the stuff.
10. What is at the top of your Christmas list?
I still haven’t figured out what I want. In fact, I hate the word want. It makes me feel so…unthankful and childish. However, I have mentioned that I would like to get a fitness tracker. I hate showing off how materialistic I am, but I might be posting a wish list later in the month.
