If We Were on a Coffee Date | Vol. 3

If We Were on a Coffee Date, Kendel @ Little MisadventuresIf we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I have been drinking way too many triple shot flat whites. We’re in week eight or nine or ten (?) of the college semester right now I clearly have no sense of time, so it is definitely that crazy period! I have assignments coming out of my ears, group work and general quizzes to take. College life. I remember that it is great…until the end of the semester. How do I survive? Lots of caffeine.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I ordered an iPhone6s and I am way too excited about it. Guys, I never spend money on stuff. Like, ever. I am the type of person that likes to have money and will quite happily squirrel it away forever. I am a saver, not a spender. Now I’m just waiting for the delivery of the case (today, hopefully!) and the phone itself, which is happening in a week (or so). Ahhh, I just want to play with it! I’m not a girl who likes clothes, but if I find a technology or car or book that I want then it is pretty much a done deal. Case in point.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’m awful at replying to blog comments. I checked to see when I last wrote a coffee date post and saw that I had replied to exactly zero comments. Whoopsie. My bad. Slap on the wrist for me. Replies will be heading your way soon!

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’m obsessed with overnight oats. It is climbing up the ranks as one of my favourite foods. I mix oats, chia seed, drinking chocolate, milk, yogurt, and random spices together to create a beautiful flavour explosion. It turns out being so chocolate-y and delicious. Perfect for the sweet tooth that I have acquired. If you haven’t tried overnight oats yet, I am telling you that you need to do it. You are definitely missing out!

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’m not in the mood to go to work. I do like the work, but the ‘getting there’ part kills me. Every. Time. Especially now. I can’t help but think ‘I really should be doing xyz instead…’ while I’m washing dishes or setting up the tea/coffee area for the millionth time.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’m moving “home” for the summer AKA I’m moving back in with my parents. Again. Definitely nothing to complain about though! Free rent, free food, a beach right across the road and a guaranteed summer job? Count me in!

Hi Mum: Home is in quotation marks because I finally feel like Auckland is my home. I am really, really happy and settled here. That being said, home will always be wherever you are living too 🙂

What’s your “go to” drink at a cafe? What is (or was) the best/worst thing about college? What are you currently waiting for?

  1. My go to drink is a soy latte. I’m currently obsessed with overnight oats too – just finished eating mine! I had oats, almond milk, chia, sunflower seeds, grated apple, cinnamon, raisins, and a dash of maple syrup. For me the worst thing about uni was the stress, I was studying and working so much I felt like I never had time to breathe.

    1. Oh, soy lattes! YUM. Your overnight oat combo sounds awesome! I might have to try it next time 🙂 I put coffee in mine this morning haha. I’m waiting to have it for lunch, but I am still so excited for it. Oh yes, stress is real. I’m feelin’ it right now. Wow. Ha. I am so ready for this semester to be over!

  2. Great idea for posting life updates, so creative!!! My go to drink is a dirty chai latte. College was fun, I think I spent too much time worrying about grades and papers, rather than having experiences that would help me later in life. Also, I just started obsessing over overnight oats!! My favorite has been blueberries, mashed banana, almond slices, silk milk and maple syrup. I’ll have to try the combo you posted!

    1. Oh, dirty chai! YUM. I love those too. Haha. I was/am obsessed with grades, but only because I’m considering study abroad so my grades have to be at a certain level! I’m also a pro at procrastinating, so I always have a lot of assignments to do in a short amount of time. Boo. Haven’t got that time management thing down yet…at all. I think I’m gonna have to try your oat combination because it sounds absolutely amazing! YUM. Blueberries are bae.

    1. Replying to comments is definitely not a great thing of mine haha. I have my moments, but this is the time when college gets a bit mental. Ha. I can’t believe that it is so close to the end of the year! They pile up so fast!

  3. LOL replying to comments is actually hard. It’s either you don’t even see the comments, or you read them but lose your train of thought and completely forget to reply! Don’t even sweat it lol and can’t wait for you to get the 6s!
