I am way behind these prompts! Surprised? It turns out that my life (or lack thereof) is contributing to my lack of posting. That, and the fact that one of my best friends had the hugest secret in the history of, well, ever. Hint: It involves something incredibly sparkly 😉
I’m still in love with the #blogtemberchallenge though. I also discovered a second challenge that I’ve been looking at. This challenge is all about being single. Lord knows I have a lot of experience with that one 😉 I really do love this little blog of mine, so I promise (even just to myself) that I am going to try harder with this space. My life is going to get a bit hectic over the coming months, but I will not let this place to go without a little love.
So, without further adieu, I’m going to introduce the fourth (for me) day of the #blogtemberchallenge!
Day four: What are you passionate about?
I agree with Bailey Jean when she said that asking someone what they’re passionate about is much better than asking what they do or what they’re studying. Their (your) passion describes something completely different. It isn’t something that you just wake up and do. Your passion is something that fuels you and drives you every. single. day.
Writing. I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I’ve written short stories, poetry, skits, and blog posts. I have written one person plays. There are so many things that I would love to write in my lifetime. I’ve had my heart set on a novel, and I hope that I can do that one day. Writing is the way that I express myself best. Nothing (or almost nothing) gets lost in translation when it comes to writing. It is the one place where I feel safe to say exactly what I mean.
Learning. I love it. I might complain about it a lot (just check my Twitter account), but there is a deep, deep love for education. I admit, sometimes I find the process to be tedious, but I love nothing more than knowing that I have learned something new that day. It doesn’t have to be something from a college class. It can be something from a book, a TV show or from a conversation. I just love learning. Knowledge is awesome. Why do you think that I keep checking out textbooks instead of fiction books? Fiction is good for dreaming, but, right now, I’m living for the now.
Coffee and Brunch. It seems trivial, but they are truly something that I love. I became passionate about coffee in my senior years of high school, but the true obsession started my first year of college. I believe I was drinking six (or more) cups of coffee when I sat my first set of exams. I became passionate about brunch when I went to my first (and so far, only) #brunchclub event. I’m attending another brunch with some Auckland girls (women) in a week, and I am so excited.
Travel. I would love to be able to travel 24/7. Once upon a time, I was convinced that I was going to be a travel writer. Heck, I would jump at the opportunity if it was presented to me. Two of my great loves wrapped in one? Yes, please. I moved to Auckland at the start of the year, and while it isn’t anything really new, I love parking somewhere and just walking around. Sometimes I have a place to be, sometimes I wander around just because I can. Do I get lost? Yes. Do I find my way back again? Eventually. After a couple of detours and wrong turns. And that is okay. I applied to study abroad just because I love to travel. I’m actually toying with the idea of applying at my new college as well. Might as well give it a shot, no?
Cars. Believe it or not, but I’m a little bit of a petrol head. Does that mean that I know everything about every car to ever exist? Well, no. Does that mean that I know the whole detailed history about my favourite manufacturers? Again – no. It does not. It simply means that I know when to appreciate a good car. The Jaguar XF and Audi A5 (or A7/A9/R8) are the cars that typically catch my eye. An Audi A5 or Audi RS5 would be my absolute dream car. I mean, have you seen the cars that Audi come up with? Eye-catching. Breath-taking. Stunning. They are works of art.
Do you have a dream car? What is your favourite type of brunch food? What are you passionate about?
Bailey Jean from Brave Love is the creator of the #blogtemberchallenge (and link-up). She has come up with some rad prompts for the month of September and all of you should definitely join up! You can do one, a handful or all of them. All I say is that you just try one and see how you like it. All of us write on the internet for fun (or as a full-time job), so why not have a little (more) fun with it and meet (more) rad people along the way?
