#BlogtemberChallenge Day 1 | The Girl Behind the Blog

my-21st-birthday-little-misadventuresWell, hellooooo you beautiful people! September is here. Can you believe it? I definitely can’t. I’m still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that I’m in mid-semester break. Guys, I’m almost done with the college year. It has been one of those blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moments. I mentioned this morning that I’ll be participating in Bailey’s #blogtemberchallenge. I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m going to make the most of it. This is a month-long challenge, so my posts will be running into October as well unless I can get the blogging guts to have post double-ups on some days. We’ll see how that goes 😉

Day One: Introduce yourself however you like! Pics, vlog, collage, your choice 🙂

If you’re new to my blog or haven’t had a chance to read my ‘about me’ page, then welcome! My name is Kendel and I’ve been writing on the internet for several years now. Who knew that spilling my guts on the internet would be so addictive? I’m a college (university) student and I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I’m in a Communication Bachelor with a major in Journalism and a minor in Linguistics. Like any true female (cough) I am the most indecisive person and it has taken me two and a half years to get to this point 😉

I’m a born and bred Kiwi/New Zealander. I grew up in a small town and have the same friends from high school. We all moved to Hamilton to go to college together. I might have taken another year to get to the city and then abandoned everyone, but the thought was there. Small town life really didn’t prepare me for city living. That being said, living in Hamilton didn’t prepare me for living in Auckland either. Auckland is a whole other beast (that I love) entirely.

My favourite food is sushi. My favourite dessert is banoffee pie. I’m scared of every bird (except ducks). My favourite colour is black. My drink of choice is a Black Russian or a triple shot flat white. My favourite wine is a chardonnay. I hate partying, but I do enjoy a drink (or ten) on occasion. I’m restless. I’ve never been to Wellington, but I lived in America for nine months. I’m a cat person, but I want a Doberman more than anything. My favourite TV shows are: Suits, Grimm, The Affair, and Devious Maids. I’m a city slicker, through and through, but I do appreciate a good beach.

Thames Coast, New Zealand

I like Twitter more than Instagram. I haven’t posted a Facebook status in the last three years. I can’t walk in high heels. I was a vegetarian for nine months. My relationships don’t last longer than three months. I need to have the volume on an even number when I’m listening to music. I absolutely hate seafood (except crayfish). I haven’t taken a math class since I was sixteen. I have a recurring dream (nightmare) that someone hums ‘fi-fi-‘fo-fum’ as he chases me through a forest. I’m scared of driving in the rain. I’ve watched Shortland Street for as long as I can remember.

I’m 5’1 (AKA a shortass), but I like it. However, that doesn’t mean you can use my shoulder/head as an arm rest. If you get my trust, then I will be loyal to the end. If you cross me, however, I will never, ever forgive you. I have no problem with cutting people out of my life. I would love to live in London or New York one day. My dream car is an Audi A5, but I would also settle for an Audi A9, Lamborghini Aventador, Jaguar XF or BMW i8 😉

There you have it. Me in a nutshell.

#blogtemberchallenge 2015Bailey Jean from Brave Love is the creator of the #blogtemberchallenge (and linkup). She has come up with some rad prompts for the month of September and all of you should definitely join up! You can do one, a handful or all of them. All I say is that you just try one and see how you like it. All of us write on the internet for fun (or as a full-time job), so why not have a little (more) fun with it and meet (more) rad people along the way?

  2. I’m laughing too hard at ” I have a recurring dream (nightmare) that someone hums ‘fi-fi-‘fo-fum’ as he chases me through a forest.” It reminds me of my brother’s nightmare of Mr. Clean (that bald cleaning guy, I don’t know if you guys have him in NZ) chasing him around a supermarket with a broomstick with the Mr. Clean jingle playing in the background.
