If We Were on a Coffee Date | Vol. 2

If we were on a coffee date linkup, Kendel @ Little Misadventures

I keep seeing these link ups all over the blogosphere, but I haven’t quite figured out who started the whole shebang. If anyone knows, then please enlighten me. I saw that Vanessa from I Write About You publishes coffee date posts and so does Skylar from Blonde Freedom, so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon too. I mean, who would say no to a virtual coffee date? 😉

If we were on a coffee date, I would have a spicy chai latte with soy milk. They are the best drink on the coffee board. This week has been surprisingly hard for a semester break. Those cups of heaven have been my points of light in a very long and difficult week. If you haven’t tried having a hot drink with soy milk then you haven’t lived. I’m a little addicted. Chai lattes are life.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I need a break. From everything. I’m currently on semester break from college, but I’ve been working (almost) every day since that break began. Complaining? Yes. I do like work, but I need time to relax and catch up on college work. I have assignments due in two weeks and I have zero energy to do them when I get back from work. College life. I’m working tomorrow, then I have a couple of days off.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I’m absolutely obsessed with Suits, and you should be too. Is it wrong if I’m a little bit in love with Gabriel Macht and his character? Keep in mind that I’m only up to the third season, but I’m 100% in love with his character. He is the type of guy that I was (am) attracted to.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I went to New Zealand Fashion Week, but I didn’t have the best time. I loved the show itself, which was NOM*d. I loved it. I especially loved the background music, which was poetry by Sam Hunt. Some might have found it weird, but I thought it was absolutely perfect.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I went to Baduzzi on Tuesday night. It was absolutely amazing. There was crayfish meatballs, tagliatelle with beetroot and quail egg, and crostata of pear with sorbet and feijoa. To. Die. For. The staff there were amazing, the atmosphere is infectious and the layout of the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Mirrors on the walls? Um, yes. I got to see everything going on in the restaurant behind me and I loved it.

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I haven’t exercised in a long time and I’m feeling it. Yes, I’ve gone for walks around my town, but not hardcore bodyweight exercises. Is it ironic that they’re the ones I love the most and the ones that I’m most scared of?

  1. If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would have a black coffee. I would ask you why this week has been so hard. I would listen as you enjoyed your Chai lattes.

If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would ask what would you like to do, if you had absolutely nothing to do. I would offer the suggestion of doing a little homework each day, getting it out of the way first. I know women in the complaint mode hate feedback or answers to problems, they are really looking for an empathetic friend.

If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would agree that Suits is an obsession, but the emotional turmoil of will they get together, will they not get together; then, will they stay together, will they not stay together nearly causes an anxiety attack. Then, can we make up our mind, is Harvey Specter a good guy or a bad guy. The idea of your loving Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) is where most guys, including myself, would fall into the pit of explaining why that would be a bad idea. Just ask Donna (Sarah Rafferty), the kind of girl I would fall in love with.

If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would try to listen about New Zealand Fashion Week, but I would daydream just a little. :-o)

If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would tell you that the dishes are new to me, but the mirrors would be good for fun conversations, trying to guess things about others.

If we were on a coffee date WITH YOU, I would listen and empathize about the exercising. I love walking. But there is no feeling that equals a jog to the gym, working out with the weights, pushing oneself to the point of screaming and then jogging home. The shower that follows would be so relaxing, the feel of the blood flowing through the pumped up muscles, is well worth the effort.

  2. So glad you joined the coffee date posts!! I hope you do catch a break soon. Working all the time can definitely wear you out. I’ve heard of Suits and how good it is. That may have to to be my next show to watch. I wish I could go on a coffee date with you and just chat it up!
