Recipe: The Best Waffles EVER

love food. Good food. Restaurant food.

Sometimes I like to eat breakfast for dinner, and dinner for breakfast. I mean, who doesn’t like cold pizza in the morning and waffles for dinner? 🙂

Just from those few sentences you can assume that I don’t cook “good food” a lot. You would be right. Almost.

When I’m on a date, “good food” is all about the restaurant service and whether the people actually know what they’re doing. Fair, right? When I’m at home, “good food” is all about how quickly a meal can be cooked and how many ingredients it uses.

It was around this time last year that I stumbled upon a recipe for waffles. Not just any waffles, mind you.

They were the type of waffles that had two ingredients. Two. Can you believe it?

Yes, just as the title suggests, I’m about to hit you with another recipe.

Clean eating, two ingredient pancakesI’m sure you’ve seen this recipe floating around the internet. Lord knows I’ve seen an adaption or two of it. The recipe I’m leaving below is my take on the waffles and what I like to eat with them. No pressure on you at all, but you should definitely give it a go at least once 🙂


Main ingredients:

1 medium banana

1 egg

The mind-blowing ingredients:

Vanilla essence

Cinnamon

Ginger

Defrosted strawberries


Method

Crack the egg into a bowl and add the vanilla essence, cinnamon and ginger. Whisk.

Mash the banana on a plate, and defrost and cut the strawberries.

Add the banana mixture to the egg mixture and mix until it combines 🙂

Heat up your waffle maker and pour the mixture in*!

*They cook normally in a waffle maker, but they also make good pancakes. You just have to cook your pancakes a bit smaller, so you have control of their shape 🙂


There you have it. I’ve cooked these waffles dozens of times in the past year and they have turned out perfect every single time. I think they taste even better than the “real thing”. Make sure you try them for yourself and tell me what you think!
