Featured on Friday: Flux & Flow

As you read this I will be off running around the city like a crazy person who is trying to accomplish a million things in a very short amount of time. That is basically what my life comes down to at the end of the day. It’s a good time. I like working under pressure, don’t you? Anyway, think of me {yeah, right} while you read the answers given by this amazing girl!

Jasmine @ Flux & Flow

1) What is your blog about and why did you start blogging?

I started blogging in June 2012 because I wanted a place to document my summer, but now I blog about everything. It’s mainly a mix between a lifestyle blog and an inspirational blog.

2) What are the best and worst things about blogging?

The best thing about blogging is knowing I’ve made a difference in another person’s life just by writing something down. A lot of people have told me that I inspire them, and that’s the most incredible thing anyone could say, I think. The worst thing about blogging is thinking of topics to write about! I post something every day, but there are times where I run out of things to talk about, which is frustrating.

3) I live on an island too {a relatively big one, mind you}, what was it like growing up on Maui?

Growing up in Hawaii was incredible and I didn’t realize how lucky I was until I moved away from the islands. I love the small towns, aloha spirit and endless sunshine. I’m really excited to move back in a few months!

4) How did you decide on your college major? Were you always interested in Journalism?

This is a funny story. I was originally an architecture major, but somehow made the switch to journalism. It was really random, but I think I found my niche in writing.

5) A piece of advice about blogging.

Only do it if you love it. That goes for anything you do in life. But really, don’t get a blog and write if you aren’t really passionate about it, or else your end product won’t be very good. Post frequently (you don’t have to post every day like I do, but post enough so your name is out there), find inspiration in similar blogs, try to write about relevant topics because the more people can relate to your blog, the more your posts will be reblogged, pinned, tweeted, etc., and most importantly, be yourself!

6) If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? Would you use it for good or evil?

I would love to be able to teleport or just travel really quickly because it would be amazing if I could relax on a beach in Hawaii before one of my midterms.

7) Three favourite blogs.

Three blogs that I read religiously are:

pienthesky.blogspot.com (inspirational)

kotrynabass.com (lifestyle)

gypsyone.tumblr.com (incredible photos)
