A couple of days ago, I realised that I have a portfolio of work due in a week. That was enough to send me into full on panic-mode. You see, I thought I had two weeks until it was due. Opps, my mistake. It really pays to double and triple check those hand in dates y’all. I’ve learned that the hard way. Now that the blind panic has been replaced by a reluctant acceptance, I am starting to search for my ‘inspiration music’. Y’all know what I’m talking about. It’s the music that just makes the writing flow.
Well, I have a favourite writing band, Radiohead. They really have some amazing music for certain scenes. Right now, I keep playing this song on repeat as I write a particularly morbid/tricky part of my short story:
Whenever I listen to this song I picture a person jumping into a lake and sinking to the bottom. You know, tying a brick to themselves and then jumping on in. I don’t really know why since the lyrics say you’ve done nothing wrong and all that. Weird. My brain is weird. This song is really helping with my writing though.
I just rediscovered an old band that I fell in love with a good four or years ago. The name of the band is Stereophonics and they are amazing. I forgot how much I like their sound. Here is one of my old favourites:
